LOS ANGELES, CA — Protesters of the school policy “willful defiance” were arrested yesterday for willful defiance. The LAUSD policy, which instated a zero tolerance policy for students who failed to comply with administrators or teachers, has been controversial for some time. It came to a head this week when protesters took to the streets. “What a crap policy,” Fernando Lucero said, while waving a cardboard sign. “Where’s our freedom of speech? Where’s our freedom in general? I think it’s –” and that’s when he was subsequently knocked down by an LAPD officer and arrested for being willfully defiant.
